UK Parliament hit by cyber attack

  • Hackers attempt to access MPs’ email accounts
  • Up to 90 accounts said to be compromised
  • Security staff shut down access to contain damage.
  • Targeting weak passwords.
  • The Sunday Times quoted a security source as saying: “It was a brute force attack. It appears to have been state-sponsored.”
  • Vladimir Putin has denied allegations of state-sponsored Russian hacking.
