The Syria Russia Dilemma

Today General Mattis met with President Trump to flesh out what could be done over the suspected chemical attacks carried out in Syria on the local population. Mattis has expressed a measured approach to the situation and has been looking at the evidence of the attack and a appropriate response.  Given that there is a lack of solid evidence to link the Assad regime carrying out the attacks this limits the scope of the response that can be carried out. Russia expels more British diplomats

With the continuation of the increased hostilities over the Nerve agent poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal on British soil. The Russian government have announced more expulsions of British diplomats to be in line with the number of Russian diplomats on British soil. These numbers have not yet been confirmed as of this time by the Home Office but it is expected they will be released as of when the Home Office has secured the numbers involved but is estimated to be around 50. Russian exercises off Swedish coast

Initiating a provocative act not seen since the days of The Cold War, the Russian Navy has given notice of a missile firing exercise, six miles off the coast of Sweden. Which brings it into the range of many NATO states, some of which have the dubious honour of having missiles and artillery fired through their airspace.
