-The US has reached the preliminary conclusion that Russian warplanes bombed an aid convoy and warehouse belonging to the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.
-A UN aid convoy delivering food relief to a rebel-held area near Aleppo was targeted in an airstrike
-The aid was intended for eastern Aleppo, where an estimated 250,000 civilians have been short of food, medicine and water.
-Details of the trip had been meticulously planned in advance, and all the right clearances had been granted by Syrian regime authorities in Damascus and Aleppo.
-The aid was part of the ceasefire deal brokered by Russia and the US.
The airstrike on the aid convoy which killed civilians and aid workers shows willingness of Russia and Syria to fight against Syrian opposition, declining the extension of ceasefire in Syria. The aid convoy struck by Russian aircraft was heading to Aleppo, where Syrian opposition group is occupying. The outrageous attack on civilians implies accusation of the bombing by US-led coalition on a Syrian military base during a ceasefire brokered by the US and Russia. After this attack on aid convoy, there is little hope for a renewal of ceasefire.
