Explosion in North of Tokyo

-TOKYO — A series of explosions rocked a parking lot and nearby park.

-The incident occurred in Ibaraki prefecture, which is located in northern Tokyo.

-Police say it regards the incident as a suicide with explosive devices.

-Toshikatsu Kurihara(72), the dead man, was a former officer in Japan’s military, the Self Defense Forces.

-Mr.Kurihara left a note which says he would pay for his sin with life.

-On Facebook, he repeatedly complained judge by a domestic court in which his wife brought a suit against him for his treatment of his daughter who was suffering from schizophrenia.

-In those posts, he also claimed the court abuses the state power.

-Two men, ages 64 and 58, and a 14-year-old boy were also injured in the blasts.

-The explosion destroyed two cars and partially burned another, a building near the parking lot was also damaged by the explosions.

-Mr. Kurihara’s home had burned down about half an hour before the explosions

Assessment:

This explosion happened near a traditional cultural festival at 11:30 (local time) in the morning. Generally, the rate of crime is low, and there is no criminal gang struggle/violence incident in Japan, but it still does not eliminate this possibility.
